There are two different licenses available for JShop Server. Both licenses come with 90 days of Tier 1 (1 business day email) support and free upgrades for the lifetime of the product. Licenses do not expire and attract no yearly subscription or renewal charges, unless you wish to take up one of our support packages. More details on the different licenses are below.

If you're looking to run a single on-line store then this is the license for you.

If you're looking to run multiple e-commerce sites with JShop Server or wish to offer JShop Server solutions to your clients then the developer license is for you. There are some key limitations on what you can or can't do with a developer license:

• You cannot simply provide or sell an installation of the software, or simply provide an installation with web space.
• You are not selling a license to your customer for JShop Server - you are covering them under your license. This means that if the customer has no on-going relationship with you, they will no longer be covered by your license. They cannot simply take the code, database and setup and move it to their own server without purchasing their own license.
• We only provide support to the owner of the developer license. This means that if you're using it to produce stores for your customers, all support questions need to come through you - we will not deal with your customers directly.

Licenses for JShop Server are non-transferable. This means that you cannot sell your license on to another company.

Your customer-facing store has no requirement to carry any JShop Server or Whorl Ltd. branding. Within the administration system there is a requirement to keep the JShop Server logos and wording unless you purchase the additional re-branding option for your license. This is available for a one-off fee for either single licenses or developer licenses.
