JShop Server Developer Licenses Are Back (4th October 2011)
In 2008 we took the decision to stop selling new Developer licenses, a license that was aimed at web development companies that allowed them to purchase a single license to cover all their client sites that they wished to use JShop Server on. This decision was made for a number of reasons, one of which was the amount of license abuse we encountered with this license type as companies allowed their clients to essentially stop using their services and continue to use their developer license. Over the years since that decision was taken we have bolstered our systems to provide us with better information on license use and we have also come to understand the importance of the Developer license to web development companies. In addition through monitoring the usage of existing Developer licenses that were sold prior to the decision to no longer sell new licenses of that type, we have taken another look at them.
In view of our re-appraisal of the Developer license, we are pleased to announce that as from today Developer licenses can now again be purchased for JShop Server. The end user licensing for Developer licenses remains the same as it did and the price for a Developer license is now 795 GBP. As before if you already have a Single Site license, you can upgrade that to a Developer license for the difference in cost - 600 GBP (plus VAT where applicable). In addition, until the end of October 2011, to say thank you to existing Single Site license owners, a discount of 100 GBP has been given on the cost of this upgrade, making the price 500 GBP.
We're glad to be able to offer Developer licenses again as we feel that for web development companies they offer incredible value for money, allowing them to leverage JShop Server for more of their clients whilst not incurring any additional licensing costs.
